Blue Whale Resort offers self-catering chalets with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. Each chalet has a covered terrace with a BBQ area, an open-plan kitchen (with oven, stove, refrigerator, microwave, and kettle), and a dining/lounge area. Towels and linen are provided. No TV is available, but Wi-Fi is included.
On-Site Dining Options
The resort has no restaurant or shop. Guests prepare their own meals using the kitchen or the BBQ on the terrace. Stock up on groceries in George city centre (10 km away) before driving the 3.5 km gravel road to the resort.
Leisure and Beach Access
Guests can explore private hiking trails on site. A staircase leads directly to a secluded rocky beach, popular for fishing. The resort has an outdoor fireplace and a garden. No pets are allowed to maintain a quiet environment.
Location and Getting Around
The resort is 100 metres above a rocky beach, 10 km from George city centre, 12 km from Victoria Bay, and 13 km from George Airport. The Garden Route Botanical Gardens are 15 km away. A well-maintained gravel road of about 3.5 km leads to the property. There is no public transport on site; a car is necessary.
Services and Facilities
Free parking, key access, and a security alarm are provided. Conference facilities are available. No daily cleaning service or babysitting is offered. The manager supplies firewood on arrival. Lights are bright white, and there is no backup power during loadshedding.
